Mr. Steve Nordhauser graduated from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute with a Bachelor's and Master's in electrical engineering. He has published peer reviewed articles and holds various patents. He has extensive experience in industry with embedded hardware and firmware design, project management, product development, electromechanical design, CAD, CNC, motor control, camera control, video processing, and data acquisition.
Mr. Nordhauser currently heads RCA's Makerspace program and considers himself a lifelong maker since age ten. He has published eight Instructables with over 140,000 views. He is a Creator and Zone Coordinator for the Tech Valley Center of Gravity in downtown Troy. He was a coordinator of the League of Extraordinary Prototypers and is a member of the Rapid Prototyping Center development group.
In addition to volunteering with RCA staff development, Mr. Nordhauser will be teaching 3D printing with Tinkercad, vinyl cutting, building a computer, experimenting with an oscilloscope, intro to electronics, and more. He is also experienced in grant writing.
