More Than a Name - A Shared Experience
And for generations, the campus itself has been known by a remarkably simple name: "The Building."
Since the 1970s, students, staff, alumni, families, and members of the community have referred to it simply as "The Building" - a name that reflects far more than the physical structure itself. The name may be simple, but its history, function, and foundation are far more complex.
"The Building" came to represent the experience itself: the relationships formed inside its walls, the structure and accountability it demanded, the mentorship it provided, and the sense of belonging it created for generations of students from different backgrounds and countries.
There was never anything flashy, pretentious, or manufactured about it. The name reflected what RCA has always sought to be - established, familiar, grounded, and inclusive. To those connected to RCA, "The Building" is more than a place. It represents a shared history, a living community, and an environment where people were challenged, supported, and prepared for life.
