Athletic Program

RCA started its athletic program in 1984. It began with a boy's high school basketball team, and a few years later we added the girl's basketball team. Today we have expanded to having five different basketball teams: girls, modified boys, Jr. Varsity boys, High School boys, and College Prep boys. Although we are very competitive, RCA's first emphasis is academics.

Each student athlete is a student first! All athletes are required to maintain at least a "C" average in every subject each nine-week grading period. In order to compete, each student athlete must also show they are applying themselves to all the aspects of student life: Academically, Athletically, Spiritually, and diligently participating in the Work-Study Program.

Because of the stigma that has been associated with athletes, our student athletes are held to a higher standard of excellence. We prepare our student athletes for the rigorous life of a collegiate student athlete. This preparation includes SAT prep, one on one tutoring, Saturday classes, evening study halls, and on the road school work.

As a result of our athletic program, our student athletes have been afforded the privilege of traveling across the country. They must maintain good behavior on and off the court. Student athletes are expected to be self motivated and diligent in every aspect of their life. Their character must exemplify excellence on and off the court.
